Roberto was 15 minutes late to class. We started by working through the daily Wordle and then Roberto read an article entitled 'California Wildefires cause massive destruction whereby he needed to match a series of headings and sentences to the appropriate paragraphs.

Roberto completed the Daily Wordle and then we continued working through the C1 reading article on Monkey Life. Roberto also told me about his time in the Congo.

Roberto's homework was to read a story to recount back in the class. Roberto chose to talk about Trumps 5% NATO war fund spending and Spanish resistance. We also explored news coverage of the recent marriage of Jeff Bezos and discussed his as a person. Some general discussion and conversation before looking at the career of Peter Mandelson the former British MP and now Ambassador in Washington DC. shade vs Shadow he's not a usual staffer his partner spouse = married We read on Wikipedia about Peter's career and how it led him to where he is today.

We discussed the upcoming plans for the embassy party and the invited guests. We also discussed the upcoming summer plans he has for his vacation time in Spain.

We reviewed the videos that he watched about the Titan submersible and leadership faults in the Titan Netflix documentary. We reviewed the two vocabulary exercises and the answers for each.

Today we shared some nautical vocabulary linked to Roberto's recent visit to a Spanish Naval ship in New York City. "Shipyard" "acknowledged" "coastguard" "knots" "tugboat" and "tow = to pull", "a tugboat tows a ship" "arriving or leaving" We also spoke about his birthday weekend and running in Central Park. "charity race" "backgrounds" "10 years from now" "they loaned or they lent" We looked at the use of past simple and how it changes the meaning when compared with past continuous. Roberto practiced some example sentences.
